Barj (Barjinder) S. Dhahan is a graduate from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He is the founder and president of the Sandhurst Group of Companies.
He has a long record of connecting people and ideas to support inclusive prosperity through education and health care. Dhahan has been the driving force behind numerous national and international health, community development and education projects especially in the Canada-India corridor.
Dhahan is a founding Board member and current Chairperson for IC-IMPACTS Ltd. (the India-Canada Centre for Innovative Multidisciplinary Partnerships to Accelerate Community Transformation and Sustainability, University of British Columbia), a founding donor and board member of the Canada India Center of Excellence, Carleton University, and executive director of Canada India Education Society. He has experience in board governance having served as the immediate past Vice Chair of the Vancouver Police Board, board member of the Industry Training Authority of British Columbia and Royal Roads University, Victoria. In 2013, he founded the Dhahan Prize for Punjabi Literature, the world’s richest literary award in Punjabi.
Dhahan has been actively involved in establishing Guru Nanak Mission Medical & Educational Trust since 1980 and joined as a Trustee in 2018.
