Our Projects
Guru Nanak Mission Medical and Educational Trust runs a campus and employs over 400 people. It manages two not-for-profit (i.e. charitable) initiatives, with several undertakings under each of those initiatives. They include:
Healthcare project
Guru Nanak Mission Hospital Dhahan Kaleran
As the Trust’s original undertaking, Guru Nanak Mission Hospital Dhahan Kaleran opened in 1984 with 40 beds.
Today, modern surgeries, medical imaging, emergency ambulances and several healthcare services are offered daily to hundreds of patients. The facility has a capacity of 200 beds.
The hospital also participates in health outreach camps in the surrounding villages.
Each year, the hospital serves around 70,000 patients.
Education project
Guru Nanak Mission Public School
The next goal of the organization was to begin providing primary education to children from surrounding villages – including to girls. In 1987, Guru Nanak Mission Public School opened. Intake was at 100. It offered education to a limited number of grades.
In 1997, the school began offering education from grade 1 to grade 12.
In 2006, it had an intake of nearly 1300 students. In 2021, that number increased to 1619.
Guru Nanak College of Nursing
In 1993, the Trust opened Guru Nanak Mission Institute of Nursing. It began by offering a three-and-a-half-year General Nurse-Midwifery (G.N.M.) diploma.
In 1998, the institute became Guru Nanak College of Nursing. It began offering a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc.N) degree – the first of its kind in a rural area in Punjab.
In 2008, the college began offering a two-year, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree.
Guru Nanak Paramedical College
In 2022, the Trust expanded its educational program to begin training medical staff in various additional capacities. The Guru Nanak Paramedical College was opened.
