Jagjit Singh Sodhi is widely known in the Banga area of Punjab for his community service. After earning a bachelor of arts (BA) in 1987, he commenced a leadership career with the Market Committee of Banga. After holding various positions with the organisation, he eventually took on the role of Senior Market Supervisor.
Throughout his life, Sodhi has dedicated his time and energy to many community-based organizations. In 2006, he was a founding member of the Guru Arjan Dev Mission Hospital in Banga. Since then, he has served as its Vice President.
His other significant involvements have included the Baba Gola Sewa Society, Blood Donor Society, Baba Gola Girls Senior Secondary School and the Rotary Club of Banga.
Sodhi joined the founding President of Guru Nanak Mission Medical and Educational Trust (GNMMET), the late S. Budh Singh Dhahan, in local fundraising activities. Most notably, he fundraised during wheat harvests and, in 2005, went on a fundraising trip to the Philippines. He joined GNMMET as Trustee in 2018.
