Amarjit Singh Kaler was born in Khokar, Sangrur and graduated from Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib, Khalsa High School, Banga. In 1955, he joined the Indian Airforce and during his service he completed a BA degree. After his father’s death in 1958, Kaleran took over the family farm at Kaleran. Some years later, he established a manufacturing facility in Goraya, Punjab making tools and ball bearings. He has earned a solid reputation for quality in manufacturing and he is recognized for his leading advocacy role for the regions’ manufacturers’ association.
Kaleran holds the distinct honour of being a founding Trustee along with the late S. Budh Singh Dhahan since 1979. With vision and purpose, he strategically helped to establish the Guru Nanak Mission Medical & Educational Trust by securing the donation of seven acres of land from the village of Kaleran for the organization. As president from 2009 to 2015, Kaleran oversaw the daily operations of the organization keeping it on solid financial footings. Since 2015, as Chairperson (Treasurer) of Finance he continues to serve the organization with his deep knowledge of accounting and financial affairs.
